Fraud Protection and Prevention


Mr. Timothy P. Camus (Tim) retired from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) on December 30, 2017.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. Camus was promoted into the Senior Executive Service in June 2003, and in January 2011, he was promoted to the position of the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations for TIGTA.  As the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations, Mr. Camus was responsible for supervising all aspects of TIGTA’s law enforcement mission. Prior to his most recent appointment, Mr. Camus served in various executive management capacities and supervisory special agent roles.  He is the immediate past Chair of the CIGIE AIGI Committee.  Prior to his service as a Federal Agent, Mr. Camus served as an IRS Revenue Officer for six years.

During his law enforcement career, Mr. Camus successfully investigated domestic terrorism groups, death threats made against public officials, bribery and extortion cases as well as all other facets of white collar crime that impact the IRS. In 2008, Mr. Camus was awarded the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service. In 2017, as a result of his work on the widespread IRS Impersonation Scam, Mr. Camus and the IRS Impersonation Scam Team won the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal.

In his personal time, Mr. Camus serves in various leadership roles in his community such as an international mission leader at his church where he is also serving as the Finance and Administration Elder; and he also serves as the Treasurer of his homeowner’s association.


Jon Guest served 21 years in the United States Air Force in the computer and computer security field.  He spent the last 14 years of his military career at the White House serving 2 presidents and traveling the globe providing communications / computer systems support to the President and his senior staff.  For the past 10 years, Jon has been working as a Senior Service Line Manager at Akamai Technologies where he oversees service related support activities for Akamai’s Public Sector accounts. 

Jon has worked all aspects of cyber security defense in depth, from ensuring that the end-user is protected to securing the website infrastructure, development and deployment.   Jon and his team helped to identify and defend against one of the largest cyber attacks to date when an attacker unleashed over 8 years worth of normal traffic in less than a 2 hour period.  This unparalleled distributed denial of service attack was successfully defended against and the customer site remained 100% available throughout this attack.  Jon truly understands the current cyber threat landscape and understands that it is evolving each and every day. 

In his personal time, Mr. Guest leads a homeless ministry for his church that currently serves 35-50 warm meals every week, since March of 2009.  He is an Elder serving as the Buildings and Grounds chair, he serves on the board of directors for a multi-denominational youth council, he is also an officer on his homeowners association.   Jon serves as the chair of his company Veteran’s Employee Resource Group.
